Week 10 – Zoom + Coding with Elsa

Using Zoom was quite a bit easier than I had anticipated. I loved that you can connect to a chat very simply through the link provided by the chat host. I also enjoyed how easy it was to download and set up. I typically find that things like this can be tricky with privacy and laptop settings but it was very straight forward. All I had to do was put the link in, and accept the access of my video camera and microphone, super simple! After all those settings were approved I was in!

I did experience some hiccups the second time we used Zoom. I suppose given the current situation with the virus Zoom is probably at max capacity which is why so many of us were experiencing difficulties. I had no issues using last class and this class all the variables were the same so hopefully next week Zoom is running more smoothly and I wont be booted out so many times!

In the future I would definitely consider using Zoom for group projects or classwork depending on what grade I have. It was very fun to see all my peers and be able to interact with them. We have only been out of school for a weekend and a couple school days but I missed seeing them!

Coding with Elsa was super fun! I loved that it was almost like a game which I quite enjoyed. I loved how they had little clips in between each stage to explain how to do each step. This is appealing to me as I find reading sometimes overwhelming so I only skim through the instructions and don’t gather all the information necessary. This is definitely a tool I would use with future students1
