Hey Crafters!
Today I’ll be blogging about my latest paper craft! I recently bought a budgeting planner for 2020, in some of the other budgeting planners there was a page with Mason jar and different lines throughout the jar to show when you’ve accomplished your savings goals. That’s the inspiration behind today’s craft!
Starting this project was a bit tricky because Cricut didn’t have any jar images available for free so I took to google and downloaded a free jar PNG file and uploaded it to my Cricut Design Space. Luckily I had remembered how to use all of the alignment tools from my last project, so it was easy to have every line symmetrical to the jar. I had some issues figuring out how to send it to the cutting mat without having it cut the entire project (I wanted the jar shape cut and the lines drawn). The first one I did was going to cut the entire design, so I had to start from scratch and “attach” all of the items together. I think my mistake was flattening the items, I know welding does something similar, I haven’t quite figured out the difference between the two.
Here is the finished project of take 1
As you can see it cut the outline of the jar all the way around like a boarder and the lines were drawn on it too. What I did was flip it around and trim it slightly to create a cleaner look. However, when I glued it all down it wasn’t aligning how I had wanted it to so I tried again. This time I was able to find a free jar image on Cricut, they tend to release new free images temporarily for a week so you never know what you’ll find. Anyway, I found a great jar to use and went for it. I am much happier with the outcome of this one!
Here’s the finished look!
