Hey bloggers!
Today I was able to learn how to use a new storyline software. This was really neat and has a lot of different purposes. It can be used educationally and uses a lot of cross curricular aspects. For example we learned about someone who used it for a social studies assignment about Chinese history. This was neat because as the student developed the story in twine, they were using fact based information to create a fun interactive activity. This also involved language arts aspects, in terms of writing as an author or in character.
I had the opportunity to explore the software a litte bit myself. I created a story about a baseball player faced with some tough choices. This was pretty neat for me as I enjoyed the creativity and the different webs and branches I could make. It reminded me of the quizzes I used to do in teen magazines when I was in middle school.
I struggled a little bit understanding how to make new branches but quickly figured it out, I also noticed there was a button I could click to make a new branch! Unfortunately, I didn’t notice this button until I had completely finished my story.
I have included my story web below in a short video clip.
